Paranormal

Belle Jamison is new to the world of super heroes. She accidentally ingested a secret formula that gave her some unwanted side effects. Now she has the power of all the elements, which include fire, earth, wind, and water. All of these powers seem to be attached to her emotions, in other words when she is scared, things tend to ice up. Anger and passion bring about fire, and she seems to have a lot of both.  She works as a paranormal investigator for Paranormal Studies & Investigations and has a stud of a boyfriend named Rome. She has been trying to plan a wedding and her career has been on the back burner as a result. It seems wherever Belle goes, tragedy is soon to follow and more awaits around the corner.

When Rome is injured on the job, he goes into a coma and awakens with no memory, specifically no memories of Belle. Belle is traumatized by his lack of memory. To top things off, he also seems to totally dislike her and is actually leaning on his ex-wife for support.  Due to his lack of memory, he awoke with the impression that he was working on his marriage and now Belle’s worse nightmares are starting to come true. She may be losing the love of her life and not only that, she is gearing up for a fight that she may not survive. She will have to find the man who took away Rome’s memories or try to make new ones with the new Rome, that is if he can find time for her.

TWICE AS HOT is the sequel to the November 2009 release, PLAYING WITH FIRE. Belle makes for a great heroine and Rome isn’t too bad either. I loved the fact that the premise of this book allows for them to begin again, although it was a little heartbreaking when Belle felt the loss. But Ms. Showalter is great at tying things up in the end and giving the reader a happily ever after. Showalter’s fans will love this latest release.
