| Originally published in
December 2000 by Five Star Publishing, BYTE ME returns to
readers’ shelves courtesy of Hard Shell Word Factory.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Jake Kirby has followed
his brother, Matt’s, footsteps (THE LAST ENEMY, 12/99) and is
currently assigned to capture a band of cyber thieves.
He is able to track one of them, Oliver Smith, but he
arrives too late. At
the crime scene, he unites with FBI Agent Bryn Bailey.
They team up on their quest to find their mastermind,
Phagan.
Before long, the trail leads Jake to a
gorgeous singer, Phoebe Mentel.
He is not aware that Phoebe works for Phagan, and she has
her own agenda. She
is determined to find out who is responsible for her sister’s
murder. While
Phoebe and Jake fight a growing attraction, Jake becomes aware
that Phoebe may well be involved with the band he is hunting.
As he works his way through the layers of a complex cyber
world of intrigue and murder, will he open his heart to love?
Ms. Jones does an incredible job of using
words to paint the backdrop surrounding this lush tale of
romance, suspense and intrigue.
Jake is a strong, determined Marshal who kept the action
at a max throughout the story.
Phoebe is also headstrong, smart and sexy, as she
provides a great partner for Jake.
The romance adds charm to BYTE ME.
BYTE ME has already gained quite a
following, and I feel that the re-release from Hard Shell will
gain a number of additional fans.
