Kay Aaronson's in Tobias, Wisconsin, her famous artist grandmother's hometown, shooting a music video. When her lead actor departs unexpectedly, she's desperate for a replacement because she has to finish the shoot if she wants a career in film. Then local resident Rob Dalton is pressed into service and Kay's video is saved. Sparks fly between the two total opposites, but Kay's leaving in a couple of days and Rob's recovering from a divorce and doesn't want a fling despite what his hormones are telling him. Rob's on temporary hiatus from his job as a financial anaylist as he rethinks his options about blowing the whistle on his firm's unethical practices. Then Kay's offered an eight-week position to promote Bliss House, Tobias's new jewel of a craft center. Eight weeks might be long enough for the good citizens of Tobias to bring together a cautious financial analyst and a free-spirited artist who just were made for each other, as long as Kay's loyalty issues do not keep them apart.

LEAST LIKELY WEDDING? puts "special" in the Special Edition name. It is a fun, touching and dynamic read set in the Special Editions' specialty, the small town. Dynamic because Kay and Rob learn things about themselves as their romance progresses and both are changed for the better because of their love for each other and are able to put their pasts behind them and move on to a future together. Simply put, Ms. McLinn makes us believe in the power of love. What I found to be especially entrancing, is her refreshing and engaging voice that pulled me into the story and didn't let go. Who can resist the opening sentence: "I need a man. Right now." And Kay found that man in Rob Dalton. The reader will also love the secondary characters, young Nell, and Chester, the dog who adopts Kay and helps to show her how to love. LEAST LIKELY WEDDING? is book three in the Tobias, Wisconsin series, and though you meet up with people whose stories were told previously in THE UNEXPECTED WEDDING GUEST and WEDDING OF THE CENTURY, it can stand alone. The next entry in the series, BABY BLUES AND WEDDING BELLS, is due in June 2005. Highly recommended!
