Historical Romance
Alexandra Benedict concludes a unique
trilogy with TOO DANGEROUS DESIRE. Determined not to
marry a horrible man and powerful prince from another
nation, Evelyn Waye is willing to commit suicide in
order to be free of him. When Adam Westmore sees a
beautiful young woman standing at the edge of the
cliffs, he is knows he cannot allow another person to
die. Rescuing Evelyn from death, Adam offers her shelter
and safety in exchange for simple chores around the
home. Despite all indications that Adam is truly a good
man, Evelyn is fearful and distrustful, and she also
knows that Adam is at risk for providing for her. Adam
assures Evelyn that she is safe, and promises to protect
her, but he has no idea how far Evelyn's pursuer will go
in order to reclaim her. Both Adam and Evelyn are hiding
secrets, and the growing attraction between them may not
survive if all secrets come to light.
Ms. Benedict has effectively crafted two main characters
haunted by fear and the past. She reintroduces
characters from previous novels, particularly Adam's
brother, the Duke of Wembury, as well as the piratical
Hawkins brothers. The emotional growth Adam and Evelyn
experience throughout the course of the novel presents
themes of love and redemption, and each character they
encounter propels them towards emotional healing.
Intensity is present throughout the entire tale, and
readers will be fully satisfied by the conclusion to the
Westmore brothers' tales.
