Romantic Suspense
Detectives Selena Alvarez and Regan
Pescoli are on the trail of a twisted serial killer. He
causes a vehicle accident, takes the woman from the
rubble, hides her where she begins to heal and then ties
her to a tree, exposed to the elements. Left to die,
alone. The only things he has left in his stead are
carved stars in the trees and a coded note. It is up to
Alvarez and Pescoli to second guess his next move and
catch him in the act before any more women go missing;
or, will they be the next to be tied to a tree?
Jillian Rivers is just minding her own business when she
suddenly gets these disturbing calls. Then pictures of
her ex-husband who was presumed dead show up. She finds
herself on a deadly path to unearth the past before it
kills her. But who can she trust? No one.
LEFT TO DIE is a horrifying story of trust and
ultimately betrayal. A serial killer is on the loose
leaving women naked and tied to trees in the middle of
the winter. From the clues, they have been in horrible
car accidents and taken somewhere so they can begin to
heal. When they are able to walk again, they are taken
on a death march through the snow and left to die. When
Jillian's car tire is shot and she plummets down a
hillside, she knows that she is part of this killers
scheme. But MacGregor, who saves her, does not seem to
fit the mold. He saves her, allows her free reign of his
cabin, and even gives her his dog and a gun when he has
to be gone. But where does he go? And why does Jillian
find herself so smitten with this man who will not share
his past with her.
LEFT TO DIE has two main veins that keep running through
this book. Who is Jillian's savior? Can he be trusted?
Are the feelings she is experiencing for him real or a
figment of a Stockholm Syndrome? Why would someone want
her dead? Who is this killer? What is the note he leaves
on the trees above his victims? And will either Alvarez
or Pescoli be on his list? When one part of the story
gets answered, the other section escalates and leaves
you, literally, hanging off the side of a cliff.
Lisa Jackson writes the perfect story. One that leaves
more questions than answers, with a sequel looming in
the future. I cannot wait to get my hands on CHOSEN TO
DIE to find out what happens in the rest of the story!
