In DARK SEDUCTION, Brenda Joyce introduces us to The
Masters Of Time. The Masters are Highland warriors with
power beyond compare. They are charged with the
protection of innocence and the destruction of evil. One
such Master is Malcolm of Dunroch. He is fairly new to
the Brotherhood and still has trouble controlling his
power. As a new Master he has already succumbed to the
dark side and is responsible for the death of another.
He lives with guilt over the vows he has broken, but as
a novice, he was not responsible for his actions for a
powerful evil force was the cause. Now he has gone
forward in time looking for a page from one of the
sacred books. Upon his arrival, he is saddled with a
young beauty named Claire.
When Claire was a child, her mother was a victim of a
pleasure crime. Since that time, Claire has done
everything in her power to make her world feel safe.
Being whisked back into the 15th century isn't her idea
of a good time. First of all the men are all
chauvinistic and then she has to deal with one of the
most stubborn men in history. Malcolm is dead set on
protecting Claire and wants no interference from her
whatsoever. Claire makes it very clear that she can
protect herself and promptly makes life for Malcolm
difficult. To make matters worse, Malcolm, like all
Masters, has a highly sexual nature. He finds himself
unable to resist Claire, even though with each encounter
she is in great danger. Masters are capable of taking
life through pleasure and Malcolm plans to never break
his vows again.
Malcolm and Claire are drawn to one another, but Claire
is a weakness that Malcolm cannot afford. His father
suffered greatly when Malcolm's mother was used against
him by Moray, evil incarnate. Malcolm knows that having
a relationship with Claire puts her in jeopardy. Claire
is bound and determined to save Malcolm from himself and
Moray, that is if she can survive.
