Witches and evil spells, love and devotion.  All are important elements in Margaret Marr’s newest story MOON OF LITTLE WINTER.  Told by an innovative story teller, and having a fascinating plot, this book makes for worthy reading.

Chely Austin and Ty Walker both are in possession of half of a house.  Chely’s grandfather built the house half on his property and half on Mae’s property (Ty’s grandmother).  Neither have met before, nor do they realize the other existed with a claim to the house.  Chely’s grandfather passed away less than a month ago.  She has spent the last month of mourning in this house which has been unlived in for over 20 years. Ty wants to buy Chely’s half of the house and then sell the whole thing to make a healthy profit that can see his grandmother well off in her remaining years.

Though wary of each other, things start to move along smoothly.  That is until Chely and Ty unearth a skeleton buried under the porch. The police and FBI start investigating and more remains are uncovered.  A twenty year old mystery comes to light and neither Chely nor Ty know what is going on.

In MOON OF LITTLE WINTER, there is a Gothic feel throughout the book that keeps the reader on their toes.  Never quite knowing which way the plot is going to turn.  Are witches good or bad, what are they capable of and what happened all those years ago? Ty and Chely need to figure out what happened or they leave themselves open and vulnerable.  The story and characters are deep and rich and engrossing to read.  It is definitely worth picking up this story to read.
