Contemporary Romance
Macy McCoy's world is the small southern
town of Hooterville where she just saw her best-friend,
Jamie Lee, off on her honeymoon. Macy's involvement in
the wedding plans brought her in close contact with her
life-long unrequited love, Luke Carter (Jamie Lee's
brother). Luke has always seemed so far out of her reach
and now that the wedding is over, he and Macy will
likely resume their longstanding friendship. Though
encouraged by her friends and family to act on her
feelings for Luke, Macy lacks the confidence. She will
try to be content with her small town life, until the
day country music star Tammy Turner has a hair
emergency. Macy is then whisked away from the Cut & Curl
by tour bus to the hustle and bustle of Nashville, TN.
Macy impresses Tammy with her skill as a hairstylist but
also seems to fit right in with the singer's fun-loving
circle of friends. As opportunities open up before her,
Macy slowly gains the confidence to truly live her life
but will this newfound self-assurance also net her the
man of her dreams?
A LITTLE LESS TALK AND A LOT MORE ACTION is just
wonderful! From the very first page, I was hooked,
rooting for Macy and Luke as their paths twisted and
turned but finally converge. Macy's lack of confidence
felt very realistic and I greatly appreciated the
attention Ms. McLane gave to crafting the character of
Luke as being delicious but not perfect, yet totally
devoted to Macy-- in a way that made this reader just
swoon! Ms. McLane's delightful narrative, featuring
memorable characters and healthy doses of humor, heart
and passion will give readers everything they could hope
for in a contemporary romance. This talented author is
one I would not hesitate to read and look forward to
many more titles, including REDNECK CINDERELLA, which is
set to grace bookstore shelves in March 2009.
