Romance - Sci Fi
Renegade lovers Captain Chasidah Bergren
and Gabriel Ross Sullivan are on a mission to stop the
creation of jukors-- vicious living war-machines.
Traveling in the space ship Boru Karn toward a much
needed rendezvous, Chaz intercepts a transmission
detailing the arrest of her brother. In addition to
being family, Thad was instrumental to their escape
months earlier from Marker Shipyards. The information
Thad possesses would also endanger Chaz's ex-husband,
Admiral Guthrie. Most importantly of all, it is the
knowledge that Sully possesses strong telepathic
abilities to such a degree as to be feared and hated by
many-- making them even bigger targets for their
enemies. All of this is happening in the opposite
direction of where they are headed! Other factors to be
considered is the growing animosity between the Takas
and the Humans, the string of brutal killings of human
females, as well as the political power plays currently
being acted out within the Empire. With danger
ever-present, will Chaz and Sully's love prevail?
SHADES OF DARK is another captivating triumph by author
Linnea Sinclair! Fans are sure to rejoice at the
continuation of Chaz and Sully's love story as the pair
are put to the test for even greater stakes than the
ones they faced in GABRIEL'S GHOST. Ms. Sinclair takes
readers on a wild ride through the universe as our
heroes battle evil and corruption. Her elegant narrative
and rich world-building enhance the reading experience
and is sure to leave her audience wanting more. All of
the hallmarks of great science fiction are present,
including a full spectrum of characters whose alliances
and conflicts evolve throughout the story, but it is the
passionate romance that really kept this reviewer on the
edge of her seat! SHADES OF DARK is full of heart,
emotion, conflict and sacrifice-- as well as adventure
and suspense. Simply unforgettable, and definitely one
for the keeper shelf! Highly recommended!
